As the Head of People Operations, you will lead the development and implementation of the Workplace Relations Strategy while ensuring alignment with Council's broader organisational strategies.

This position reports to the Manager of People and Culture whilst collaborating closely with the General Manager of Governance and Engagement.

You will oversee a team of People & Culture Business Partners (5 direct reports) and work in partnership with various divisions across Council.

You will provide strategic input across various domains including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and diversity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities And Duties Lead the design, development, and implementation of Council's Workplace Relations Strategy, integrating it with other strategic initiatives.

Provide internal HR consultancy and advisory services to enhance people management capability.
Drive workforce planning and job design solutions aligned with organisational goals.
Partner with managers to build capacity, manage performance, and strengthen people management skills.
Offer timely advice on employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with legislation and policies.
Champion diversity and inclusion strategies, including Indigenous employment initiatives.
Manage and guide the People & Culture Business Partnering team (5 direct reports)
Ensure People & Culture requirements are integrated into planning and reporting cycles.
Act as an ambassador for Council's culture and values.
