The Junior Library Officer is an effective member of the Alexandra Library team that supports the library to provide a customer centred approach and quality services to its internal and external customers, to deliver services in accordance with Council's values and behaviours.


About this opportunity
In this role of Junior Library Officer, you will be responsible for providing library and customer service support.

The successful applicant will be able to work successfully in a team, enjoy reading, have good communication and administrative skills and experience with using computers.

Hours of work

  • Tuesday pm
  • Saturday 9.00 am pm


The position will require the successful applicant to provide relief at Alexandra Library during school holidays, in particular during the month of January.

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Commitment to working as part of an effective team.
  • Well developed interpersonal skills and the ability to deal effectively with a wide range of people and situations.
  • Proven ability to think and act quickly and in a professional manner.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and busy periods.
  • A demonstrated interest in books and reading.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite of software products.
  • Literacy skills at a Year 10 secondary education level.
