The Position

St John of God Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding areas. We provide 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services, and after hour GP services. Our 131-bed healthcare facility is operated by St John of God Health Care, and provides public patient services under a public-private partnership with the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.


We currently have two vacancies available for a
General Services Officer to join our team at
Hawkesbury on a casual basis.


To participate as a member within the multi-disciplinary team and under the direction of the Manager/Supervisor, assists in the delivery of quality Cleaning & Food Services.

The duties and responsibilities of the position are to be carried out in a manner that is consistent with the mission, values and operating systems of Hawkesbury District Health Services and in-line with St John of God Code of Conduct.


We are offering these positions on a casual basis, working various shifts across 7 days per week on a rotating roster.


  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care.
  • Experience in commercial food services environment and/or commercial cleaning.
  • Ability to work unsupervised independently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to read understand and complete online work related training without supervision.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and demonstrate good organisational skills.
  • Sound knowledge of WH&S, Infection Control, and Manual Handling principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of good customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster, working variety of morning and afternoon shifts as per the need of the hospital. Should be available to work Monday to Sunday shifts between 5.30am and 9 pm.
