Role Profile:

As Finance Manager / Financial Reporting Manager, you will be joining to help drive efficiencies and manage month-end financial reporting processes.

The permanent role is essentially the 2IC and 'chief lieutenant' to the Financial Controller, who is in turn lieutenant to the CFO. While the FC has responsibility for the overall operational finance landscape, this role is very much the financial accounting and reporting SME. Managing a small team, you will work to ensure month-end reporting timetables are achieved. Among other tasks, you will be responsible for:

  • Month End reporting including the review and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
  • Cashflow management and reporting
  • Review of BAS, FBT, PAYG, Payroll Tax and other regulatory/compliance concerns
  • Drive the preparation of statutory accounts and supporting work papers
  • Assisting the FC and FP&A Lead with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • More critically, you will be a strong Manager and Leader. In both roles I'm recruiting you will be responsible for managing a small team in need of technical and career guidance and mentorship. They need a supportive and collaborative leader.


Successful Candidate Profile:

  • Hold a recognised accounting certification: CA, CPA, ACCA etc.
  • Prior experience in the legal sector is our first preference, followed by broader professional services sectors (chartered accounting – internal finance role, management consulting etc)
  • You will possess a strong technical grounding with a good measure of commercial savvy to ensure you succeed in this fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • You will have proven leadership skills that will be utilised in managing and developing your own team while building strong relationships with broader business stakeholders, both internally and externally.
  • The desire, and preferably past experience in actively engaging in process improvement, working to streamline and automate where possible to position the firm well for dealing with further growth and increased volumes.
