An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Graduate to join SLR's Environmental Assessment & Management team in Brisbane.



The role will provide you with day-to-day technical development in the Environmental Impact Assessment field, while also providing the opportunity to be part of a structured learning program.

  • The graduate program will commence in early 2023 (February/March). You will be one of many graduates joining SLR and will have the opportunity to learn from and work with our broad range of technical disciplines including Hydrology & Hydrogeology, Land Quality & Remediation, Ecology, Acoustics, Air Quality and many others. The Environmental Assessment & Management team will provide you with a 'whole of project' understanding of how project impacts are assessed and approved across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

As part of a growing team, you will be responsible for assisting with preparation of environmental impact assessment reports, approvals documentation, tenders and proposals, and completion of fieldwork.

You will be supported by an experienced and diverse team, comprising consultants with 1 year experience to over 25 years' experience.

This vast knowledge and experience will be fundamental to supporting you to develop your skills as an environmental consultant.

  • The Brisbane Environmental Assessment & Management team works in multiple industries in Queensland and Australia.

The majority of our work is focused on:

  • Mining (metallurgical coal and gold)
  • Renewable energy (hydrogen, carbon capture and storage), and
  • Infrastructure (road upgrades, dams and pipelines).

Skills & Experience
You will be a recent graduate or have 1-2 years of industry experience. You will be self-motivated, articulate, reliable and have strong verbal and written communication skills.

In addition, you will have:

  • A professional qualification in environmental science or other relevant degree
  • Experience working in an environmental role as part of your degree or work experience
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
  • Capability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • An eye for detail
  • Be adaptable, fast paced and selfmotivated
  • An advanced capability in Microsoft Excel and Word, and
  • Australian Citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
