Salary: $70,000 plus 11% superannuation

Our client Mechid Trailers & Bins is licensed motor dealer and a local manufacturer of quality bins and trailers with a manufacturing plant & showroom in Minchinbury, NSW.

To strengthen our team, we are seeking a skilled Fitter-Welder to join us full-time in the production of high-quality trailers and bins through expert fabrication, welding, and assembly of metal parts.

This role offers a great opportunity for you to showcase your experience and grow alongside us, working on a variety of interesting projects.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for interpreting technical drawings, cutting, grinding, shaping, and welding metal sections to create top-notch Bins, Trailers, and other equipment.

If you are physically fit, capable of meeting daily production goals, and hold a Certificate IV plus a minimum of 3 years' experience, we want to hear from you.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Study drawings and specifications to determine operations and machine settings
  • Use specialized tools and machinery for cutting, grinding, and shaping
  • Create quality welds based on blueprints
  • Accurately align material with measuring instruments
  • Perform measurements and visual inspections
  • Operate angle grinders for welding preparation
  • Diagnose faults, conduct maintenance, and handle deliveries on-site
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance productivity
  • Follow safety protocols and quality standards
  • Work according to Welding Procedure Specifications
  • Assemble items under supervision
  • Examine welds for precision and width of bead
  • Clean and finish products meticulously
  • Troubleshoot and repair breakages

Requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience in MIG Welding and TIG Welding
  • Shop drawing interpretation skills
  • Basic shop math capabilities
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes and documentation
  • Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety practices
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a team setting
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and welding skills

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift

Licence/Certification:

  • Australian driver's licence (Required)
  • White Card (Required)
