Despatch Coordinator

An opportunity is available for an experienced, professional despatch coordinator to join our ever-expanding logistics team, reporting to the warehouse supervisor.

You will be experienced in providing professional customer service for both internal and external stakeholders. The role will provide support for daily operations of both domestic and export freight within the QLD despatch department.


The role will be hands on providing administrative support to the Despatch team as well as providing shop floor support including picking, packing and the loading and unloading of trucks.

To be successful in this role you will have strong administrative skills, a good understanding of shipping/transport documentation and you will be comfortable in a warehousing environment with experience in operating a forklift.


You will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with both internal and external contractors/ customers
  • Book transport and prepare appropriate documents
  • Coordinating domestic and freight, shipments
  • Assist in picking and packing of customer, local export, and distribution orders
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are maintained
  • Assisting in stock takes as directed
  • Ensuring correct paperwork is signed off and communicated back to sales/management.
  • Ensuring goods are labelled accordingly
  • Ensuring checking and completion of transport documentation
  • Providing quality customer service both over the phone and face to face
  • Communicate with branches in regard to stock requirements.
  • Reception and administration duties

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:

  • Proven working experience working in a Despatch environment highly regarded
  • Proficiency in inventory software, databases, and systems an advantage
  • Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods
  • Strong interpersonal, Time Management and organizational skills, ability to multitask.
  • Selfmotivated, reliable and ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Forklift licence essential
