This position will be managing general Marine Park operational responsibilities, you will be tasked with coordinating the on ground marine strandings responses and leading a team of rangers to manage projects including public moorings, signage and public infrastructure including a boardwalk.

The role will be involved in the delivery of the dedicated compliance program in the Moreton Bay Marine Park and providing marine park users with educational materials and interpretative resources at local community events.

The position will be required to operate commercial vessels, will also have a general role in on ground operations in the marine park and associated National Park Islands and will work closely with First Nations people in the area.

Staff will be required to travel (including at sea and by light aircraft) and may be required to work in remote locations in a range of varying climatic conditions.

You'll need:

  • A strong understanding of marine operations, conservation, natural values management
  • A focus on people including workplace health and safety (both physical and psychological)
  • Courageous and ethical leadership, advanced communication skills
  • The ability to form trusted relationships with First Nations partners
  • Organisational, change management and teamwork skills
  • Compliance and enforcement skills
  • Administration, reporting, and computer skills
  • A Coxswain grade 1 NC licence is highly desirable in this role.
  • Hold an unrestricted manual driver's license
