Your Role

As an Aircraft Armament Technician in the Air Force, your job involves maintaining and handling weapon systems on advanced aircraft such as the F-35A Lightning II, E/A-18 Growler, and F/A-18F Super Hornet. You'll deal with various armament components, including electronic, electrical, and mechanical parts. Additionally, you'll work on ejection seat systems and handle air-launched munitions.

Duties

  • Aircraft launch and recovery tasks
  • Maintenance and testing of computer and weapon systems
  • Fault diagnostics
  • Inspection, removal, and installation of aircraft components
  • Working with explosives
  • Preparing and loading missiles, bombs, and torpedoes onto aircraft
  • Using aircraft support equipment

Salary

After completing initial military and job training, you'll receive a starting salary of $75,451.

Location

Once training is over, you may be stationed at major Air Force bases in Australia like RAAF Base Amberley, Williamtown, or Edinburgh.
