Description:
Cater Care is seeking a skilled Sushi Artisan to join our team in Sunshine Coast under the CCR Operations department.
This casual position in the Food & Beverage category offers an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to showcase their expertise in sushi preparation and presentation.
As a Sushi Artisan, your main responsibilities will include:- Creating highquality sushi dishes, ensuring exceptional taste and visual appeal
- Preparing and handling raw fish and other ingredients with precision and care
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Collaborating with kitchen staff to coordinate sushi orders with overall meal preparation
- Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the sushi station
- Monitoring inventory levels of sushi ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed
- Adhering to company policies and procedures, including portion control and waste reduction
- Providing excellent customer service by engaging with patrons and accommodating special requests
Skills and Experiences:
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or Sushi Artisan
- Demonstrated expertise in preparing various types of sushi, including maki, nigiri, and sashimi
- Knowledge of traditional Japanese ingredients and their proper handling
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in food preparation
- Excellent knife skills and precision in cutting fish and other ingredients
- Strong understanding of sushi presentation and plating techniques
- Capability to work efficiently in a fastpaced kitchen environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to food service
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
