Our NSW Water team is currently looking to hire an experienced
Hydrogeologist.

This role will be based in our
Sydney office.

Some of the projects you may be involved in include transport/infrastructure, mining, energy, water resource management/supply and projects that support environmental impact assessments

Recent projects include:
- predicting groundwater flow pathways from a closed mine
- groundwater inflow assessment for the design of major underground road tunnelling projects
- hydrogeological investigations, modelling and assessment to inform the design of a hydraulic well barrier
- derisking groundwater impacts for construction related to water utility infrastructure
- groundwater impact assessment related to renewable energy infrastructure
- conceptualisation, modelling and groundwater impact characterisation at a fuel terminal
- using applied tracers and other methods to investigate the behaviour of a fault
- numerical modelling to support landfill liner and leachate system design.

What you'll do

  • Conduct field investigations and data collection related to groundwater resources, including supervising drilling programs, surface water and groundwater sampling, and aquifer hydraulic testing
  • Data management and analyse hydrogeological data
  • Contribute to technical reports

  • Support the development of proposals for new projects
  • Comply with all rolespecific SHEQ obligations, including the identification and alleviation/elimination of safety hazards
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

About you
You will also bring the following experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geosciences, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • You're likely to have 15 years of experience in hydrogeology or environmental consulting with good sitebased experience (fresh graduates with a general understanding of hydrogeology are welcome to apply)
  • Experience in GIS and hydrogeological modelling software is advantageous
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including being able to write high quality, concise reports
