Join a leading player in Australia's agricultural sector as In-House Legal Counsel situated in the heart of Brisbane CBD.

Reporting and working closely alongside the Senior Legal Counsel and General Counsel, this role will sit within a legal team of experienced professionals who oversee a diverse portfolio of transactions, ranging from private M&A to rural property and export contract negotiation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in conducting private M&A transactions including drafting NDAs, conducting due diligence, drafting term sheets and executing deals;
  • Negotiating water rights agreements and rural property transactions;
  • Managing export contract negotiations;
  • Collaborating closely with the legal team and other division of the business to ensure deals align with the company's risk appetite.

To be successful, you will have:

  • 4+ years PAE;
  • Broad Corporate Commercial and contract experience which could be across, M&A, due diligence, water rights negotiation, or property law;
  • While experience in the agricultural sector is preferred, applicants from other legal backgrounds are also welcomed to apply;
  • You may be working at a national firm in private practice or already in-house wanting to take that next step;
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to work closely with an organisation itself;
  • Current eligibility to practice law in Australia, particularly in Queensland.
