What you'll be doing


You will embark on an exciting journey completing a Certificate III in Horticulture - Sports Turf Management over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and hands-on practical experience with the Host Employer, St Pius x College.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support and carry out ongoing maintenance, preparation, construction and mowing of prestigious sports ground, including irrigation systems
  • Use of various equipment and machinery, including push and rideon lawn mowers, spray applicators, cylinder rollers and brush cutters
  • Carry out duties to assist with the maintenance and upkeep of prestigious sporting grounds.

What you'll bring to the table
To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Commitment to both on and off the job training
  • A cando attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions
  • Demonstrated interest and passion for the Horticultural trade
  • Ability to carry out manual handling duties and outdoor work
  • WWCC or willingness to obtain
