About the Austin Endoscopy Suite:


The Austin Endoscopy suite is located on the second floor of the main hospital in the Surgical and Endoscopy Centre (SAEC).

It was opened in June 2007 and forms part of the Austin Health Operating Suite complex. More than 7500 endoscopy procedures are undertaken per annum on a weekday basis.

These procedure include but are not limited to gastroscopes, colonoscopes, ERCP, bronchoscope, PEG insertion, entroscope,endoscopic ultrasound, capsule endoscopy, manometry, laser, argon plasma coagulation and more.

The endoscopy unit also provides other departments (theatre, radiology and ICU) with access to some of these services.

About the role:

As in endoscopy intstrument technician you will be involved in a great team in an exciting phase.

Some of the services and taks you will be involved in complete but not limited to include the following:

  • Assisting in preparations for the day or the coming day.
  • Ensure stock is order, then handled and stored as per the AS/NZS418
  • Comminucate with all staff throughout the department
  • Prioritising workloads and needs of the endoscopy rooms for the day/next day
  • Commincate with 3rd parties if the need arises around repairs and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with AS/NZS4187 standards in regards to reprocessing
  • Education sessions/days

About you:

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Advanced knowledge of the AS/NZS418
  • Knowledge of AER's and drying cabniets
  • A minimum of a Certificate III in Sterilizing Services
  • Ability to work in a team environment and as an indivudal as required
  • A can do attitude
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Good computer knowledge
