Let's talk about the roles and responsibilities:

We are looking for a talented Electro-Mechanical Systems Engineer to join our team in Melbourne. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the early prototyping stages of electro-mechanical-fluidic system development. This role requires a generalist engineer with a hands-on approach, capable of disassembling, debugging, and repairing prototype systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the team to build pilot prototype units in the UK, gaining familiarity with the systems.
  • Perform hands-on installation of the system in consumers' homes in the Melbourne area, together with a CC engineer.
  • Conduct fault finding, debugging, and fixing of the prototype pilot units during the trial period.
  • Analyze data logs and feedback from consumers in the pilot trial to understand the types of problems they are experiencing.
  • Attend consumers' homes to assess and resolve issues, including resetting the system, replacing components, or advising on preventative measures.
  • Work closely with the local technical team to seek advice and guidance on challenging problems, and propose necessary software updates.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in electro-mechanical system development, preferably in early prototyping stages.
  • Basic experience in electronics/software to communicate effectively with electrical/software engineers.
  • Ability to disassemble, debug, and repair prototype systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work creatively with limited instructions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with fluidic systems, particularly beverage systems, is desirable.

Additional Information:

  • This is not a technician role but requires a deep understanding of system functionality and the ability to creatively resolve issues.
  • Ability to collaborate with a plumber for system installation and emergency repairs (no plumbing qualification required).
