The Opportunity


The Residential Care House Supervisor will provide supervision, support, coaching and mentoring to a team of Residential Care Workers working in a house to ensure a high quality, therapeutically focused care is provided 24/7.


The Residential Care House Supervisor is instrumental in the provision of high-quality residential care based on a therapeutic and trauma informed model of care.

The position will actively lead and supervise a dedicated team of Residential Care Workers through nurturing the Children and Young People in accordance with their case management plan.

The House Supervisor manages the daily operations of the home and supports the recruitment, development and retention of Residential Care Workers.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of Residential home.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to Residential Care Workers.
  • Comply with reporting requirements for program components.
  • Administration and accountability of annual budgets and program planning.
  • Embedding a therapeutic framework by overseeing best practice implementation of Children and Young People's individual case management plans and fostering an outcomesfocused team.
  • After hours and on call duties.
  • Develop and assist with house rosters.

About You
Applicants must also complete the mandatory upskilling units as required by Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Continuing employment is dependent on satisfactory evidence provided within 3 months of being engaged in the role. Our team will support you with your enrolment with our partner TAFE, Melbourne Polytechnic.


We are seeking someone who has the ability to identify opportunities for improved practice and can meet the flexible demands of the role.

Previous experience leading a team would be highly advantageous.

You will have;

  • Strong leadership and decisionmaking skills.
  • Provide direction for Residential Care Workers.
  • Teamwork the ability and desire to work cooperatively with others as a team.
  • Sound oral and written communication skills.
  • Relationship building the ability to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with others inside and/or outside the organisation.
  • Experience and understanding of therapeutic principles in relation to working with young people with challenging behavioural issues.
  • Client focus commitment to supporting the excellence.
