You'll be joining a team of multidisciplinary specialists who collaborate to improve the experience and outcomes for patients with care and compassion.

A role with unique responsibilities
A Prenatal Nurse plays a vital role in a patient's journey. You are responsible for providing detailed information and support to patients undertaking prenatal screening and/or diagnostic testing, including phlebotomy services. With exceptional care and support, you will directly enhance the patient experience. Working closely with the Genetics team, your responsibilities include:

  • Providing patients with exceptional care and support
  • Consulting with patients prior to undertaking Non-Invasive Pre-natal Testing (NIPT)
  • Discussing the requirements of 1st and 2nd trimester ultrasound, diagnostic prenatal testing and pre-eclampsia screening
  • Providing quality phlebotomy services and follow all established protocols
  • Ensuring all consent forms and documentation is collected and maintained in accurate patient data/records
  • Referring patients to appropriate services where necessary
  • Assisting and working closely with the broader genetic counselling team

Are you the ideal candidate for us?
As a Prenatal Nurse, you will be sensitive to the needs of patients and will support their wellbeing through timely and considered communication. Ideally you will bring the following:

  • Current health related discipline degree or equivalent
  • An understanding of prenatal services
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and well-developed communication skills
  • A track record of delivering caring and compassionate customer service
  • Highly developed skills in all facets of prenatal testing
  • Ability to work cohesively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Superior organisation and time management skills with proven ability to multitask
  • A willingness to fit in and embrace the Monash IVF Group Principles: Care, Collaborate, Communicate, Commitment and Create.
