We are currently recruiting for an
Technical Writer - Mobile Equipment who will report directly into the Maintenance Advisor Shovels and Fabrication.

This role is based on a 5:2:4:3 roster where you will drive in and out of our Boddington, have every second Friday off along with every second week working from home

This position will work closely with the mine maintenance & site services team.

The Technical Writer is responsible for determining the optimum methods for completing maintenance tasks and documenting the methods in a standardised format.

The process will include a detailed job safety assessment task to ensure that hazards are identified and appropriately managed. There will be close liaison with the trade work group and maintenance engineering team.

The role:

  • Proactively familiarise themselves with the different the equipment and tooling used onsite
  • Gather information regarding how the job may best be done

This will include:

  • Discussions with Engineers, Supervisors, Planners & Tradespeople
  • Discussions with contractors, original equipment manufacturers and suppliers
  • Review of existing materials including engineering documents, vendor manuals, photos, standard work procedures etc.
  • Attendance on the job site if the equipment is being worked on for this or similar tasks.
  • Produce safe, effective documentation that is compliant with mine regulations & relevant NBG standards.
  • Understand and follow the relevant document review and approval procedures as amended from as required
  • Revise & update STP's (Standard task procedures) as requested and update the revision and document database.
  • Provide SWPs (Standard Work Procedure) for link/upload to SAP complete with all required data and information as amended.

About you:

  • Relevant trade qualifications essential. Dual and/or posttrade qualifications well regarded
  • Several years relevant experience in a mobile maintenance or a similar minerals processing plant, in a traderelated role
  • Knowledge of, and commitment to, current safety principles and practices in heavy industrial maintenance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy. Specifically, above average working knowledge of Microsoft Word, reasonable keyboard skills, and a natural competency in English spelling and grammar.
  • Willingness to work outside of strict role requirements to achieve team goals
  • Commitment to ambitious standards of work performance and behavior, and high output quality
