  • Get Going Support is currently seeking committed Support Workers who are exceptional communicators, willing to go the extra mile, have a great understanding of complex/ psychosocial supports, who love going on adventures and are passionate in providing dignified support care.
  • This role provides rostered shifts that ensure stability and the opportunity to provide genuine impact with our clients.

Role Description

  • Assist people to live as independently as possible in their own home and in the community, remove barriers and engage in a full life
  • Personal care including helping people shower, getting dressed and performing daily activities, laundry etc.
  • Providing social support to people with disabilities and people experiencing mental health
  • Assist people with physical and psychosocial disabilities to remain independent in their own homes
  • Assisting with light housework.
  • Supporting clients to appointments in the community
  • Providing therapy assistance to support the implementation of physical, speech, OT and psychological plans and strategies (as directed by their allied health teams)
  • Supporting people to develop and build self confidence
  • Reviewing and updating care support plans

Qualifications and Experience

Essential_

  • Current QLD Driver's License
  • Current First Aid Certificate and CPR
  • Current Yellow Card
  • Compulsory Third Party insurance on private vehicle
  • NDIS Orientation Certificate or ability to obtain
  • COVID19 Certificate and current vaccination
  • Manual Handling

Desirable_

  • Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS system.
  • Sound experience in the disability or allied health/welfare/education fields.
  • A minimum of one year's driving experience and a full driving license.
