As an JVES Mentor your role will be working to support voluntary Victorian jobseekers who are long-term unemployed or at risk of long-term unemployment, across a broad range of cohorts including people with disability, multicultural communities, Victorians experiencing mental health issues and family violence.

Am I suited to being an JVES Mentor with Outlook?

We find people with experience in delivering great customer service such as sales, retail, call centre operators, hospitality, consulting, business development, and administration are well suited to this role. Your effective people and communication skills, confidence to engage and build relationships, problem solving, and innovation are the foundations of success in this position. We provide training and support to ensure you turn your existing skills into a new career in JVES Mentor.

Desirable Skills

  • Previous experience in a similar role with case management and individualised support is desirable, NOT essential – we are looking for the right attitude
  • Agile, passionate and flexible and willing to go above and beyond to change lives though employment
  • Experience in delivering high levels of service
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed KPIs
  • Prior experience in working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds will be an advantage

What you will be doing

  • Networking with customers to choose Outlooks services
  • Providing inspiration, motivation and support through person-centred service delivery
  • Identifying and addressing employment barriers through mentoring, referral, training and development
  • Helping customers to identify their skills, abilities to secure employment
  • Building relationships with local employers and community organisation
  • Working collaboratively with networks/partners to actively source and secure employment opportunities
  • Delivering ongoing outstanding customer service to customers and employers
  • Adaptable and responsive to community and key stakeholder needs

To be considered, you will have

  • Eligibility to work in Australia
  • A current driver's licence and a comprehensively insured vehicle
  • Willing to complete a Criminal History Check
  • Able to pass a NDIS Workers screening check
  • Able to pass a Working with Children Check
  • Willing to complete a Pre-employment Medical Check
