About the role
We are looking for disability support workers with an experience to join our team.

We have support worker roles available in:

  • Western Melbourne ( Tarneit, Weribee, Sunshine, Point Cook areas)


As a support worker in our team, you will be responsible for supporting individuals with daily living skills, assisting with social and recreational activities, implementing and monitoring practices that will promote a healthier lifestyle, and empowering participants to help them achieve their goals.

The role will involve working with participants with both low and complex needs. Some may need assistance with medication prompts, and others may show complex behaviours. Experience and professionalism are highly recommended.

Additional Duties for this role include but are not limited to:

  • In Home Support to assist in participants daily activities
  • Working with participants with complex behaviours.
  • General Domestic Duties.
  • Transportation.
  • Social and Community Participation.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Build rapport and collaborate effectively with staff/management, participants, their family, and friends to achieve a positive outcome and ensure a smooth service delivery flow throughout the participants' plan.
  • Assist with liaising with participants' families and friends to explore new goals, and ambitions, promote and empower participants to achieve their goals and provide a medium of solid communication.
  • Increase participants' skills with your active support and promote independence by enhancing their skills and personal development.
  • Provide quality and professional support in line with participants' plans, needs, and wants.
  • Assisting participants with accessing their social community to engage with their friends and social groups to promote a healthier lifestyle.
  • Implement strategies and programs to develop/enhance participant skills, and identify areas of increased support and opportunities for services to help achieve their goals.
  • Shifts that are available range from Monday through to Sunday. Timings of shifts may vary. Shifts may range from minimum 2 hours to 8 hours.

Qualifications

  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Current CPR training
  • Current full Vic Driver's Licence
  • Certificate IV in Mental Health or Certificate III in Disability ( Preferable)
  • NDIS Screening Check
  • Working with children check
  • Assist clients with Medication certificate ( Preferable)
  • Current Manual Handling Certificate

  • Own car with a full comprehensive insurance insurance
  • Right to work in Australia
