The Role:


The Head of Legal - APAC will work on a diverse set of matters that straddle business, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.

You are collaborative, curious, creative, and a clear communicator (both written and verbal) with expertise in the legal areas we encounter regularly, such as commercial technology transactions, privacy, data protection, intellectual property and employment law.

Reporting into the Chief Legal Officer, you will be a key member of our Pax8 Legal team and key advisor to the Pax8 APAC teams on the legal and regulatory elements of the company's global and regional operations.


How You'll Make Impact:

  • Prepare, review, and advise on contracts, and other transactional documents.
  • Manage outside counsel.
  • Provide support to M&A activity.
  • Answer questions from internal clients and recommend actions.
  • Support and provide guidance on regulatory compliance across the APAC region to ensure requirements are met locally.
  • Drive your own personal development and performance improvements by participating in learning paths on Elev8, taking part in Pax8 L&D programs, receiving peer or manager coaching, taking on stretch projects or on the job training.

About You:

  • Qualified lawyer, with at least ten (10) years' post qualification experience.
  • You will have gained early legal experience in a recognised law firm.
  • You will have worked as part of an inhouse legal team (ideally for an international company),or have the drive and aptitude to make the move inhouse.
  • Welldeveloped understanding of commercial, contract, and risk management issues (including a good understanding of the compliance issues) facing a global business.
  • Substantial experience in Australia, New Zealand, and Asia employment law preferrable.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of GDPR, SOC2, ISO and other relevant accreditations.
  • Highly organised and detailoriented with an ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organisation.
