Bristile Roofing, a company in the Brickworks Group, which provides roofing services to builders nationally, is seeking to appoint an experienced Work Health Safety and Environmental Officer at our site in Wacol, Queensland.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that management are aware of their statutory compliance obligations in relation to environment, health and safety. The position is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of the environment, health and safety management systems.

Duties include but are not limited to
***:

  • Ensure WHS and Environmental Management Systems are implemented and maintained.
  • Monitor and report on site safety performance via monthly EHS report.
  • Ensure EHS records are maintained as per document management procedures.
  • Hazard identification and management as well as assist in incident investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
  • Conduct environmental and safety inspections and assist in annual audits.
  • Chair site safety committee and conduct meetings in line with WHSMS and EMS.

Success Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of WHS and environmental legislations
  • Tertiary qualifications in related discipline
  • Experience in a similar role in manufacturing industry
  • Strong problem solving and reasoning skills
  • Highly organised and strong time management skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of staff and management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
