The Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN) provides care to more than 400,000 people living in the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide as well as providing a number of state-wide services, and services to those in regional areas.

NALHN offers a range of primary health care services across the northern metropolitan area of Adelaide, with a focus on providing preventive and health promoting programs in the community, and transition and hospital substitution and avoidance programs targeted at chronic disease and frail aged.

With our brand new Mental Health Short Stay Unit and the planned refurbishment and development of our Mental Health Inpatient Units across NALHN sites, state of the art facilities and technology are at the forefront of our future.

The network boasts newly redeveloped wards and Emergency and Outpatient Departments, with plans for the addition of more brand-new facilities in the near future.

Our 400-plus Allied Health professionals play an integral role in multidisciplinary teams delivering exceptional care to patients across our acute, subacute and hospital avoidance services.

The Administration Officer as a pivotal member within the Northern Aged Care Assessment Team is functionally responsible for the efficient and effective administrative service delivery to the program by ensuring prioritisation of work, established routines, methods and procedures are adhered to.


  • This is achieved through managing client referrals to the NACAT, scheduling of appointments, coordination of administrative tasks and the provision of support to the Team Leader, Team Resource officers and Assessors. The Administration Officer contributes to the provision of administrative support by providing excellent customer service, processing of completed assessments including data entry, updating client information, and provision of administrative support and resource management to team members. There is also a requirement to solve problems with reference to documented procedures, legislation and instructions.
The Administration Officer duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Working collaboratively and flexibly within both the admin team and broader ACAT team.-
  • Providing effective management of client referrals and scheduling appointments as required, including creating and managing rosters for the duty officer role and hospital appointments.-
  • Undertaking word processing and data entry tasks to support programs, services and the team leader.-
  • Contribute to the review and management of accurate client data and reports. Contributing to the management of cars by managing car rosters and log books and arranging for cleaning and services to be undertaken.-
  • Contribute to the management of Accounts Payable.-
  • Contribute to the accurate management of staff timesheets and leave requests.-
  • Providing general administrative duties such as distributing incoming mail, managing the petty cash, taxis and coordinating office resources and purchasing.-
  • Participate in team meetings and committees, representing the admin team and taking minutes where required.-
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by aiming to improve the quality of work processes and individual administrative work practices.

In addition to the mandatory vaccination requirements for all SA Health roles under this Policy SA Health workers must also comply with any vaccination requirements imposed under legislation (including any directions under the _Emergency Management Act 2004 _or the _South Australian Public Health Act 2011_) and any mandatory vaccination requirements under the terms and conditions of employment of employees.
