We are looking for an experienced Director to provide effective leadership and management of the implementation of the new Governance and Contracting Framework for the State's public VET providers. Your work in this role will see you successfully transition the framework to business-as-usual to maximise outcomes from the Government's significant investment in the State's Public VET Providers to deliver priority skills for individuals, businesses and the Queensland economy.

As the Director, Public Provider Office you will support social and economic outcomes for Queensland through the implementation of a new governance and contracting framework for the State's public VET providers.

As part of the Skills Investment Leadership team, you will use your excellent interpersonal and management skills, and strong professional work ethic to:


• Provide effective leadership and management of the implementation of the new Governance and Contracting Framework for the State's Public VET Providers, and successfully transition the framework to business-as-usual.


• Establish and maintain productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including the State's Public VET Providers.


• Provide high level advice for senior management and the Minister on issues related to the State's Public VET Providers, including legislative processes and oversight of operational and financial performance.


• Oversee the preparation of briefings, submissions, correspondence, and reporting on public provider policy and performance issues.


• Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team, including through the building of internal capability and a focus on continuous improvement.


• Liaise, collaborate, and manage positive working relationships with other areas of the division, department, other levels of government - state and federal, industry and VET sector organisations to achieve outcomes and deliver on the implementation of the Skills Strategy, National Skills Agreement and other related Government commitments as they pertain to the public provider.


• Provide input as required by the team leading the review of the current TAFE Queensland Act 2013 commencing in 2024 to ensure it remains fit for purpose.


• Monitor the internal and external environment and identify issues likely to impact the public provider.
