We are looking for our next Townsville Airport Manager, to drive our team and locations to new heights, whilst delivering great experiences to our valued customers. This opportunity will be for a permanent, full-time role (working 38-hours per week) based at Townsville Airport

The Role:

As Airport Manager you will manage the service/distribution and operations ensuring it functions effectively and efficiently to maximise profitability while maintaining the highest level of service.

Managing and overseeing the Avis Budget brands at a Townsville airport, you will make sure customer satisfaction, fleet utilisation and profit generation are paramount by exercising independent judgement around our day-to-day operations and activities.

All service provision and duties will be completed in accordance with established operation procedures and company policies.

You will be responsible for managing and leading staff, this will include employee morale, performance, coaching, development, and performance management. Although you will have clear authority within the role, you will also have the judgment and maturity to gain support and approval from a higher level when that is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Effectively manage the fleet levels and employee rostering to meet customer demands
  • Print, action and monitor reports / financial plans and contribute to the development of the annual business plan for our Mackay location
  • Continually compare location performance against the strategic plan, and implement necessary contingency measures to ensure targets are achieved
  • Monitor the level of customer service being delivered and continually identify and implement strategies to increase customer satisfaction
  • Create and foster a supporting team environment
  • Identify and continually monitor employee needs and implement actions to increase employee satisfaction, retention and attraction
  • Manage the performance of employees as needed

To be successful in this role:

  • Pervious leadership or managerial experience and developed skills in leading and developing teams
  • The ability to provide coaching and feedback to our employees
  • Business acumen and the ability to read and understand business-related financial reports
  • The ability to use your initiative and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in complaints handling, conflict resolution and negotiation.
  • Excellent computer proficiency especially with MS Office
  • The ability to maximise performance of the team
  • Knowledge of relevant industrial relations legislation
  • Strong communication skills
