Our North Bundaberg team currently has an exciting opportunity for a trackworker to join their team on a full-time basis. This position covers approximately 300km in distance, from Bundaberg to Gladstone. This role can also rotate and cover the regions of the Central Coast, around the Maryborough District and works with Miriam Vale track team.

What Queensland Rail has to offer

  • Base Salary of $62,000 with earnings up to 80, % super – including penalties
  • 9-day fortnight to 1600 (Mon-Fri one week, Mon-Thur following)
  • Travel on paid work time including expenses & accommodation
  • Paid training and ongoing support - including Cert II in Rail Infrastructure
  • All PPE & tools supplied

About the role
As a Trackworker you will be responsible for performing heavy manual labour duties including replacing railway sleepers and a variety of other track maintenance tasks. This position is constantly in the field so you must be able to work in a variety of challenging weather conditions and high temperatures.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of the railway track
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently
  • Travel and perform outdoor work (including flood repair and other emergency work) throughout Queensland, often in challenging weather conditions and high temperatures.

About you

  • Recent experience in a manual handling or physical labouring type role
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety
  • Must have capacity to travel and work within Regional Queensland
  • Must have the flexibility to work some overtime and weekends
  • Front-end loader, excavator, skid steer, truck licence, or other licences/ tickets are desirable.
  • We promote development in our team and in addition to the above-mentioned training you will have the opportunity to gain a First Aid certificate, High Risk Work Licence (DG) & (LF) & Working Safely at Heights ticket.
