Solution Architect

  • 12 months with 12 month extension possibility

Our Federal Government client is seeking a proactive and dedicated Solution Architect to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, analysis, and design to support the development of technology solutions that meet business needs and align with architectural governance and standards.
  • Identify gaps in the current state and create practical solutions to reach the future state.
  • Define Minimum-Viable-Products to demonstrate value to senior-level executives.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and document all solution architecture design and analysis work.
  • Analyse the business-IT environment to detect critical deficiencies, legacy issues, and technical debt, and propose stage-wise solutions for improvement.
  • Lead evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of solutions architecture across specific business applications or technologies.
  • Provide consulting support to application architects within agile teams to ensure alignment with overall enterprise architecture.
  • Design and direct governance activities to ensure solutions architecture assurance and compliance.

Key Skills:

  • Data-savvy with knowledge of various aspects of technology architecture, including network infrastructure, security, and cloud/hybrid/on-premises infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data vault/data warehouse/data lake solutions.
  • Ability to formulate high-level solutions from business requirements, architectural drivers, and design constraints, while presenting trade-offs between scaling, load, availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Understanding of system development life cycle methodologies (e.g., spiral, agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, DevOps).
  • Knowledge of IT service management (ITSM), IT infrastructure library (ITIL), and IT standards and controls.
  • Proven analytical, planning, organisational, and technical skills.
