As our Claims Team Leader you are a coach, mentor and inspiring leader to your team, stickler for best practice compliance and process standards and can deliver a first-class customer experience.

Reporting into the National Claims Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Lead and coach team members by developing capability and learning opportunities, monitor and balance performance priorities and encourage a collaborative and engaging team environment.
  • Oversee, plan, and support the daytoday operations of the team as well as providing support to the National Claims Manager and State Manager as needed.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships including sales, underwriters and brokers through the claims process, addressing concerns, escalations and resolving issues to enhance customer experience.
  • Critical decisionmaking regarding claims settlements, approvals and denials based on policy terms, regulations, and company guidelines.
  • Reporting and analysis of team performance, claims data, identify trends and make strategic decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations, legal requirements, and company policies.
  • Participate in visits with customers, key stakeholders, broking partners, and clients.
  • Keep up to date with industry best practices by participating in business related industry forms and working groups.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in the insurance claims industry with indepth knowledge of insurance policies, procedures, insurance laws and regulations are essential.
  • ANZIIF qualification, Certificate 4 or Degree in insurance, finance, or a related field
  • Handson leadership, stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills with a focus on building strategic relationships, coaching and mentoring to drive high performance is highly regarded.
  • Customerfocused mindset and the ability to handle customer complaints, escalations and problem solving.
  • Reporting and analysis to drive team performance, identify trends and support strategic decisions.
