The Mater hospital is seeking a compassionate and experience Registered Nurse (Full time) to join our thriving Special Care Nursery team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional care to premature and vulnerable babies ensuring they receive the best start in life.

ABOUT YOU:

Your skills will include:

  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Registered Nurse/Midwife with AHPRA
  • Minimum 3 years neonatal experience.
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Neonatal Nursing or working toward
  • Awareness of NIDCAP/Developmental Care Model of Care
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to self-improvement, growth, and high-quality patient care
  • Excellent clinical decision-making skills
  • Bubble CPAP competency desirable but not essential

ABOUT UNIT

14 bedded state of the art SCN. Private rooms (Nests) for our families allowing true individualised family-centered care. Care for infants from 32 weeks gestation – managing those requiring respiratory support as well as accepting care of those infants born prematurely in tertiary referral hospitals across Sydney.

REQUIREMENTS:

Mater Hospital has a duty of care under work health and safety legislation to eliminate and/or control the risk of transmission of vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) in healthcare settings. You are therefore required to comply with the SVHA Staff Health Screening Immunisation Policy, which, depending on the role you perform in the organisation will require you to undergo mandatory immunisations/vaccinations (including flu vaccinations).
