The role of a Category Manager/ Buyer is to deliver sales through sourcing an exciting range and mix of product that makes for compelling viewing, and is in line with the category strategy and customer profile to maximise revenues and ensure budgets are met.

The category manager will strategically plan the area to maximise programming, web and catalogue opportunities within budgeted.

The Category Manager is responsible for Revenue, GP%, GP$$, Productivity, Inventory and GMROI and the management of the OTB of the nominated category.

This position works within the Merchandise Team and liaises and interacts with various other internal partners as well as external partners to ensure the success of the category.

  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Ability to supervise and manage staff.
  • Can work within a team.
  • Highly Flexible in approach
  • Intermediate Excel and Word literacy.
  • All Standard Operation Procedures/Policies are understood and adhered to.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Minimum 5 years proven success in retail buying and associated degree or diploma

self disciplined enough to work in a relatively relaxed culture, autonomously while being held accountable, and be resilient.
