CSIRO's Information and Technology (IM&T) division is embarking on an ambitious portfolio of work designed to support the organisations strategy.

Underpinning the portfolio is a desire for staff to have seamless, secure access to tools, systems and processes that back the delivery of world class science.


The Applications Information Management and Support (AIMS) within CSIRO IM&T develops software solutions that support CSIRO's science and business functions.

The team supports in excess of 100 products; ranging from in-house developed to custom configured and the hosting of "off the shelf" products.

The team operates using agile practices and has a policy of continuous review and improvements. Our environment encourages innovation and provides the technology and autonomy to get on with delivery.

Your duties will include:

  • Manage a medium to large testing team, lead staff (representing a range of test disciplines) and manage resources.
  • Develop strategic and operational plans for the testing services within AIMS and have significant independence of action.
  • Evaluate capability and capacity required to achieve test maturity and address skill gaps through training and recruitment plan as well as vendor partnerships.
  • Build test strategy for upcoming projects to cover across major risk areas
  • Take final responsibility for the quality of the testing service delivered and have considerable influence on decisions related to matters within the scope of quality assurance
  • Other duties as directed.

AU$121,455K - AU$142,321K plus up to 15.4% superannuation

To be considered you will need:

Essential:

  • Min 5 years' experience in Test Management
  • Good understanding of modern manual, integration and automation testing tools and principles
  • Experience maintaining and continuously improving Test Management processes, procedures and templates.
  • Experience designing Test Strategies and Frameworks from scratch.
  • Previous experience managing and supporting a Testing Team including delegation of work, leading Test Analysts, improving the team's overall competence in testing and ensuring testing is completed within time, quality and cost constraints.
  • Good Stakeholder engagement experience

Desirable:

  • Any previous experience working in a government environment
  • Scrum Master/ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level Certification (CTFL)
