We are looking for a passionate and hardworking
Maintenance Assistant to join our Road Maintenance team at Singleton Council.

In this role, you'll make a real impact on the everyday lives of people within our community by achieving important outcomes for Singleton to grow and flourish.

THE ROLE


The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for undertaking a range of labouring tasks as a part of a multi-disciplined team responsible for the construction and maintenance of the Council's infrastructure assets.


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • A working knowledge of and experience with labouring tasks involving construction and maintenance in roads or civil construction, coupled with experience using small machinery and hand tools used to undertake such work.
  • Demonstrated ability to cooperatively work as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of WHS responsibilities as an employee.
  • A commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers of Council.
This position is offered on a Temporary Full Time basis working 38 hours per week. The team currently have a 9-day fortnight roster in place.


Remuneration for this position is based on
Grade 3 of the salary system which equates to a base salary and standard allowance of between
$25.85 and $29.02 per hour plus superannuation.

There is opportunity for overtime and generous paid leave entitlements.
