The Opportunity
Newly created opportunity within our Technology and Innovation team for a Landfill Engineering Manager.

IN this role you will plan, develop and design all works to support efficiencies within landfills operated by Veolia Australia.

What you'll be responsible for

  • Developing and maintaining a program of works for Australian landfills
  • Leading a team of engineers and design consultants to deliver design and technical analysis to budget and timelines
  • Handover design to project delivery team whilst supervising delivery, changes and improvements
  • Identifying risks and hazards to support operations activities
  • Engaging global technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for knowledge transfer and sharing
  • Developing strong relationships with internal customers, clients, operators, regulators and other key stakeholders

What you'll need to be successful

  • Extensive demonstrable experience in landfill management, including design and construction
  • Specific experience will cell construction, leachate management, landfill gas management, stormwater management and site rehabilitation
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant environmental legislation and EPA requirements pertaining to design, construction and operation of landfills
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and matrix environment
  • The ability to communicate well with internal and external stakeholder
  • Willingness to travel
  • Current Drivers licence
