Hunter Valley Private Hospital is located on the fringe of Newcastle and is close to the Pacific Motorway, vineyards and university. We are an independent 83 bed facility with a 5 theatre Operating Suite providing medical (geriatric and palliation), rehabilitation (inpatient and day only) and surgical services. The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Exercise Physiologist to join the Allied Health team on a 12month full-time contract. The role involves working in both the day rehabilitation program and the inpatient setting. The caseloads include neurological, orthopaedic, amputee, geriatric rehabilitation and aquatic therapy.

As an Exercise Physiologist, your responsibilities will include:

· Conducting initial assessment, re assessments and discharge summaries

· Designed best practice exercise prescription

· Conducting education sessions

· Monitoring of patients throughout sessions

· Support members of the Allied Health team to provide high standard of clinical care to patients/families

· Work with the Allied Health Team to help patients achieve their goals

· Adhere to Healthscope and site policies and procedures

· Contribute to efficient and effective running of the department

· Demonstrate a commitment to continuous quality improvement and occupational health and safety

· Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

· Bachelor degree in Exercise Physiology or equivalent and accredited with ESSA;

· Demonstrated highly developed communication interpersonal skills;

· Compliance with the ESSA'spolicy of mandatory education;

· Experience working successfully in a multidisciplinary team;

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:

· Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads;

· Previous hospital experience;

· Minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in conducting individual and group exercise physiology programs;

· Demonstrated ability to work within an interdisciplinary team;

· Clinical experience as a team leader
