About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity available for a Lawyer to join our national organisation, on a full-time, fixed term or part-time basis depending on your preference.

This role will see you utilising your professional qualification and experience to provide day-to-day assistance with legal matters across the Questas Group of companies.

The role reports to the General Counsel and encompasses legal matters such as:

  • Supporting the M&A legal due diligence process.
  • Reviewing customer and supplier contract and the preparation of departures schedule.
  • Ensuring that the corporate governance is maintained with appropriate scheduling, recording and minuting of Board, BARC, Remuneration and Nomination meetings.
  • Supporting the Group of Companies in maintaining IP; including renewal of trademarks business names and patents.
  • Proactively seek ways to provide legal assistance which meets business' requirements.
  • Assist General Counsel in any legal dispute or litigation matters, utilising external legal advice as required.

The role is primarily based in our Seven Hills head office, with plans to relocate to Norwest later in 2024. Hybrid work options are also available in this role.

About You

This role will be best suited to a person who has experience with M&A, Contracts and/or Corporate/Commercial law.

You will ideally also possess the following skills, experience and capabilities:

  • A qualified lawyer admitted (or on your way towards) to practice law in Australia.
  • Commercially astute, solution oriented, an avid learner, able to generate creative options and think ahead to anticipate potential problems.
  • Attention to detail is critical to your success in this role.
  • Ability to triage multiple priorities and work autonomously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for performance.
