payroll officers at various APS levels to join their local Canberra team.
APS3/4
As a Payroll Advisor, you would generally be required to undertake tasks of moderate complexity and work under general direction.
You are accountable for organising your work and making decisions within defined parameters relating to the area of your responsibility.
At this level you may exercise some discretion with respect to how legislation, procedures and guidelines are interpreted and applied.
You will provide guidance, advice and support on pay related matters.You may supervise and provide leadership of a team and be responsible for coaching and training newer and less experienced members.
You will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where judgement and attention to detail is required.APS5
As the Senior Payroll Advisor, you will be required to undertake work that is moderately complex to complex in nature and operate under limited direction.
You will lead a small team to provide guidance, advice and support to employees on pay related matters.You will supervise lower level employees and be responsible for organising you and your team's workflow, managing staff performance, allocating work and identifying opportunities for on-the-job training.
You will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where judgement and attention to detail is required.APS6
As the Payroll Team Leader, you will be required to undertake work that is complex in nature, work under limited direction with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability.
You will be responsible for leading the payroll team to deliver payroll services, undertaking systems administration and reporting to ensure the delivery of high quality payroll services.
You will be responsible for assisting in identifying, developing, implementing and reviewing business processes that improve the overall operational efficiency of the team.
In addition, you will use your analytical, judgement and conceptual skills in the development and provision of reports and advice to meet reporting obligations.
