The Opportunity:


We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a Legal Cashier to join our Brisbane office on a permanent basis.


As a Legal Cashier you will have the opportunity to work as part of our Ashurst Service Central - Finance team to deliver a range of services to internal and external clients in relation to Finance Operations activities.

Some of your main areas of focus in the role will be;

  • Ensure Ashurst Australia Trust policy is adhered to at all times, regardless of situation
  • Receipting of incoming funds
  • Processing requests to draw down on funds.
  • Processing third party related professional cost invoices to legal matters
  • Receipting of incoming payments to all firm operated bank accounts
  • Management of the Firm Bank Mandates


This is a fantastic opportunity for you to utilise you previous finance skills and gain exposure and knowledge within a global finance team.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • Ability to work autonomously under tight timeframes in a fast paced evolving environment. Solution focused and be able to collaborate with a range of different stakeholders at various levels of the firm
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner, whether written or verbal
  • Intermediate problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to identify issues and suggest solutions
  • Experience within a law firm is desirable, however not essential
  • Trust & Controlled Monies exposure is desirable, however not essential
