Survey & Spatial Data Coordinator

THE POSITION:

The Survey and Spatial Data Coordinator role is available at Fairfield City Council's Design Services Division. This position reports directly to the Manager of Design Services and involves working closely with internal and external stakeholders. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day operations of the Survey and Spatial Data branch, preparing plans requiring a Registered Surveyor's signature, and providing professional advice on survey requirements and property transactions.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, show commitment to teamwork, and prioritize delivering quality customer service.

ESSENTIAL:

  • Degree in Surveying and Registration with the Board of Surveying and Spatial Information of NSW or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of surveying equipment, techniques, and computer applications related to the Survey & Spatial Data branch
  • Experience in protecting, maintaining, and repairing survey marks
  • Engaging and supervising consultants for survey and engineering functions
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Local Government
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for report preparation
  • Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders and represent Council professionally
  • Team management experience
  • Property development advisory experience
  • New South Wales Drivers Licence Class C

DESIRABLE:

  • Private practice surveying experience
  • Experience in drafting instruments for property rights and restrictions
  • Preparation of Environmental Effects Statements and Development Applications

SALARY & EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent position, 70 hours per fortnight
  • Grade 8 with a salary starting at $107,405 p.a.
  • Salary progression based on competencies
  • Flexible working hours, mobile phone provision, and motor vehicle benefit
  • Free employee parking on site
