Position Description

Job Title:
Dental Technician (Removable Prosthetics)

Responsibilities:

This position will undertake various activities of the company's production work.

The Technician will be a member of the dental laboratory team who, upon prescription from a dental clinician, constructs custom made restorative and dental appliances.

The Technician will be responsible for the fabrication, alteration or repair of dental devices such as dentures, splints and other appliances.


Main Duties

The main duties of the position include:

  • Read the prescription to establish the doctor's preferences.
  • Evaluate model work and articulations
  • Select denture teeth from tooth stock per doctor's specifications
  • Mark model for outline of restoration
  • Create base plates
  • Create bite registration rims
  • Set denture teeth on fully edentulous cases
  • Set denture teeth on partially edentulous cases
  • Make splints

Skill Level

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Excellent eyehand coordination and manual dexterity
  • Detail oriented

Essential Skills

  • Required: Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years experience

Behaviours
Must be able to work within a team and independently. Must show loyalty and integrity and support.

Salary
Depending on experience salary range $63,000 to $70,000
