Currently we are looking for an experienced Principal Estimating & Pricing Analyst wanting to further their career.


The Principal Estimating & Pricing Analyst provides advice and management of the development activities of cost estimates for a proposal, transforming the estimates to generate the price in accordance with company policies.


The Principal Estimating & Pricing Analyst is required to understand key cost drivers, ensure estimates are generated and consolidated in accordance with bid schedules, ensure the integrity of the price and assist with subcontractor offers to ensure they are competitive and reflect the scope of work.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance to capture managers, program teams and other relevant staff in the development of estimates and priced proposals.
  • Lead the financial input in the preproposal planning activity to ensure that technical and cost/pricing approaches are both consistent.
  • Participate in the development of the work breakdown structure, work breakdown structure dictionary and program schedule.
  • Develop and issue cost estimating instructions and ground rules, in consultation with relevant parties.
  • Establish and manage the proposal within approved pricing tool(s).
  • Assist the development and review of supplier packs including the flow down of financial requirements.
  • Conduct estimating reviews and pricing reviews with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate the development and documentation of key estimating and pricing assumptions used in the development of estimates.
  • Process cost data, perform cost analysis and support the development of management/gate reviews.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience making improvements to processes, systems or products to enhance performance of the work area.
  • Complex analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Understanding and knowledge of AUS Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) / Accounting, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, financial accounting requirements, government financial principles (cost and profit) and analytical and estimating techniques.
  • Requires a University Degree in Finance or equivalent discipline suitable for this role.
  • Commerce, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of cost estimating.
  • Experience in presenting to senior leaders or training peers.
