We are seeking Forest Rangers A03 to support the Native Cypress Team that provides operational support to the Business Group.

This role is offered with full-time hours on a 9 Month Contract.

About the Role
As a Forest Ranger, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist in the preparation of sale proposals for designated forest products.
  • Monitor sales of designated forest products including performance, associated planning.
  • Undertake tree marking and measuring of native timber and forest products (where applicable).
  • Monitor and assess the performance standards of clients and contractors.
  • Liaise with Forest Products stakeholders including clients and their contractors, other Government agency representatives and members of the public.
  • Assist Fire Management activities, including prescribed burning, top disposal and wildfire control and supervise heavy machinery operations. (as required)
  • Maintain records and prepare reports.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have a personal love for the outdoors and camping.
  • Availability to travel for work.

Desirable

  • Qualifications for the use of ATV and driving 4WDs will be highly regarded.
  • Skills in the use of technology to create mapping and other GIS products.
