AWI Steel produces high quality structural steel works for Tier One contractors on major Sydney Infrastructure projects.

We are currently seeking a full-time Metal Fabricator for our business located in the Silverwater 2128 Industrial area.

Your duties will include:

  • Review of approved drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Work within company certifications/accreditations for structural steel fabrication and welding.
  • Undertake fabrication and welding activities in line with prequalified company welding procedures and specifications.
  • Inspection of steelwork and consumables prior to commencement of approved activities.
  • Use of hand tools, welding machines, flame cutting, electrical tools and overhead gantry crane.
  • Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision in line with Welding Supervisor instruction and direction.
- cleaning and rounding of edges by filing, chiselling and grinding as needed.

  • Housekeeping of work bay and storage areas.
  • Sign off and record keeping of drawings once completed.

In return you will receive:

  • Package: $80,000 per annum plus superannuation
  • Position: Full time (38 hours a week)
  • Ongoing support from our team
Requirements of position

  • Minimum of AQF Certificate III and at least two years of relevant work experience OR three years of relevant work experience may substitute for formal qualifications
