Role Summary:

The Consultant, Financial Reporting role in the Australian Investment Accounting team involves handling various financial reporting tasks for investment manager and superannuation fund clients. To excel in this role, you must develop strong client knowledge, meet all requirements, and contribute to client relationship building. Additionally, you will participate in onboarding new clients for financial reporting and tax purposes alongside other teams, reporting to the Manager of Financial Reporting and Tax.


What you will do:
  • Provide top-tier client service and address accounting and tax queries for assigned clients
  • Review financial statements and templates
  • Identify and enhance core processes and procedures proactively
  • Train and mentor junior team members
  • Collaborate with various teams to meet client reporting goals
  • Participate in new product developments and process improvement projects
  • Oversee offshore teams' performance
  • Ensure compliance with risk management controls and Northern Trust standards
About You:
  • Prior experience in Custodian, Superannuation fund, or Investment Manager accounting/tax teams
  • Deep technical knowledge of accounting and tax concepts related to Managed Investment Schemes and Superannuation funds
  • Familiarity with Australian Accounting Standards and Tax rules
  • Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements
  • Strong excel skills and familiarity with financial statements and tax reporting systems
  • Degree in Accounting/Commerce/Finance, preferably with a CA or CPA
  • Relevant experience in a similar role
  • Strong client service and relationship management skills
