Working closely with the Discipline Manager - Mechanical Piping (APAC West), you will thrive in an integral role for the Piping team, balancing people leadership and technical excellence to create an inspired culture and deliver for our clients. Taking the lead in this highly visible role, you will be supporting an established team who are focused on FEED / Execution to EPCM delivery on new and significant brownfields engineering projects, aligned with global energy transition and energy security (including CCS).

Wood is recruiting a Lead Piping Engineer to step-up and into a rare career opportunity within our Oil & Gas Operations team here in Perth

Ideally, you will be an Australian citizen or be eligible to hold Permanent Residency (PR) and be able to work lawfully in Australia. National or international relocation assistance is available to support your candidacy.

You will have a Mechanical Engineering degree coupled with experience in a similar Principal / Lead Piping Engineering role within the brownfields Oil & Gas sector.

In addition, you will have:

  • Proven leadership of diverse engineering teams with an ability to both challenge and coach talent in an inspired culture, while leading them towards high performance
  • Broad understanding of the business drivers for energy sector clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of and experienced in the use of Australian and International codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of Pipe Stress Analysis and interpretation of report outputs
