The Australian Genomic Cancer Medicine Program encompasses several cohort studies to improve the understanding, early detection, prevention and management of cancer.

This includes the Molecular Screening and Therapeutics (MoST) Program and the Genetic Cancer Risk in the Young Study which are recruiting patients at multiple sites in Australia.


THE OPPORTUNITY


The Data Analyst will work as part of the AGCMP team to support activities associated with data requests and data management for the AGCMP research cohorts nationally.

This will include assessing data quality for consistency and reporting.

Salary:
Up to $70,000 P/A + Superannuation + Salary Packaging

Employment Type:
Full time 5 month contract, with a strong possibility for long term extension

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The key responsibilities include:

  • Manage patient reporting for Omico to ensure accurate assessment of treatment and survival data
  • Fulfill data requests
  • Undertake data quality assessments, data cleaning, and data dictionary maintenance
  • Maintain the patient tracking database and identify potential improvements
  • Develop and maintain queries for reporting to state, federal and philanthropic funding agencies
  • Monitor data integrity to enable consistent data interpretation
  • Provide business intelligence (BI) support to the AGCMP team, including dealing with ad hoc queries
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality
  • Work within an expanding group, as well as autonomously

ABOUT YOU

The key skills and experience include:

  • A minimum of 2 year's experience, preferably related to the health and research industry
  • Ability to think logically, with high attention to detail
  • Knowledge of BI data analysis tools such as Microsoft PowerBI and SSRS, or similar data visualisation tools
  • Exposure to data warehouse environments
  • Strong commitment to quality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Desirable

  • Advanced understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience with SQL Servers
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience and/or knowledge with database systems and records management
  • Knowledge of ICH-Good Clinical Practice guidelines
