Òra Restaurant, is a new Japanese Restaurant & Lounge in the heart of the design precinct of Danks Street, Waterloo.
In collaboration with Executive Chef Nobuyuki Ura, Òra Restaurant will offer guests Japanese dining & Kaiseki Omakase cuisine with an exemplary beverage selection.
Featuring our newly renovated venue and mission to curate a superb team of superstars who share our vision, passion and respect for Japanese food, it's heritage and culture and memorable dining experiences.
Job Description:
Required traits are charisma, warmth, genuine and playful.
Someone who is engaging and welcoming to every guest who walks through our doors to enjoy their dining and entertainment experience.
The role will be suited to someone who has exceptional customer service experience, is positive, dynamic and is confident in using various operating systems - Ordermate and SevenRooms.
- Welcoming and greeting guests as well as ensuring they receive a word of farewell upon their departure.
- Use of SevenRooms to seat guests within a prompt and timely manner.
- Offer menus, water and a brief intro about ORA.
- Closely monitor seatings and turnaround times and being able to communicate these positively and efficiently with the FOH team.
- Update guest data and profiles regularly.
- Allocating walkin guests and waitlists when necessary, communicating with guests regarding wait times.
- Utilize the bar and cocktail lounge spaces appropriately as waiting areas and be able to offer guests drinks during busier times.
- Assist the FOH team in the busiest period of service if needed.
- Strong knowledge of our VIP's names, needs and preferred dining area.
- Establishing, promoting and maintaining quality relationships between guests and regulars.
Qualifications:
- A polite, professional and playful attitude with immaculate presentation.
- Experience with SevenRooms or similar is reservations system advantageous.
- An attentive approach to guest engagement.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Experience working as a Host / Maître D in a premium dining or premium customer service setting.
- A current RSA Certificate.
