What's on offer?


Fulton Hogan are looking for a Safety Lead to support us in the development and successful delivery within the Level Crossing Removal Project portfolio, as part of the Metropolitan Roads Program Alliance (MRPA).

We are currently removing level crossings across metropolitan Melbourne with many more technically complex projects to deliver over the coming years.

Based in Beaconsfield and reporting to the Alliance Safety Manager, you will play a key role in the delivery of a major Level Crossing Removal based on Station Street.


You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the implementation of the project's safety strategy and associated actions / programs;
  • Developing and continuously enhancing the safety culture on each project through the delivery of riskbased safety strategies;
  • Design, management and implementation of riskbased strategies, including ongoing improvement of task observation tools, techniques and methodologies;
  • Management of the safety system and reporting including weekly, monthly, quarterly safety KPI reports;
  • Management and monitoring of corrective actions, ensuring corrective actions are monitored so they are managed according to their risk profile and adequately resourced;
  • Liaising with regulatory agencies;
  • Assisting in the development of Safety Advisors and Safety Administrators.

What we need from you:

  • Extensive industry experience as a safety professional, with a focus in major civil construction and/or rail projects;
  • Proven leadership skills which will enable you to inspire and actively promote our Living Safely culture;
  • A persistence to drive positive outcomes, while fostering a culture of autonomy, accountability and continuous improvement;
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, coupled with the ability to take ownership and problem solve in spite of competing stakeholder interests.
