About the Legal Services Branch
The Legal Services branch offers a wide range of legal services within the ACIC, supporting various business areas.
  • Strategic legal advice to the CEO and senior executive
  • Operational legal services for special investigations and operations
  • Working on government reviews and law reform initiatives
  • Providing legal support for operational teams
  • Statutory interpretation and legal advice on relevant legislation
  • Support for information disclosure and procurement projects
  • Advice on contract law, disputes, property, and more

About the Role

The Internal Policy Officer role within the ACIC oversees the internal policy framework to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
- Corporate reporting and coordinating mandatory policy updates Providing administrative support for policy updates Building and maintaining internal policy templates and resources
  • Self-starter with strong team skills and the ability to contribute to organizational goals
  • Experience in internal policy development and stakeholder engagement
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Highly organized with exceptional prioritization skills

Eligibility Requirements
  • Australian citizenship is required for APS employment unless stated otherwise in writing by the agency head
  • ACIC employees must uphold high levels of security and integrity
