About the role

Our Australian Federal Government client is seeking an experienced Full stack Developer to join their program. This role is crucial in driving the digital transformation of agricultural export and biosecurity systems, supporting Australia's economic recovery. The successful candidate will work in agile, multi-disciplinary teams, focusing on developing and optimising JavaScript applications to enhance user experience. With a strong emphasis on collaboration, technical leadership, and innovative problem-solving, this position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on critical national systems while working closely with various stakeholders and experts.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and advice across large and complex projects.
  • Design and improve software based on user needs prioritised by the team.
  • Write clear, secure, and well-tested code that is easy for others to reuse.
  • Operate and maintain the services developed by the team, identifying and resolving production issues.
  • Collaborate with other developers to continually improve the overall quality of the codebase.
  • Develop and deliver solutions using both frontend and backend technologies, adhering to test-driven or behaviour-driven development practices.

Skills and experience

  • ASVGA Baseline Security Clearance required
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand business requirements and present solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong experience with client-side JavaScript frameworks like , and backend JavaScript technologies including Node and
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and SASS.
  • Good understanding of operating software on cloud infrastructure, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge of common web security issues and how to prevent them.
  • Experience developing and iterating software in agile, multi-disciplinary teams.
